Vegas, again

So, I decided to go to Vegas and look at some places to live. 2 days later, I was in Vegas. I have awesome friends. I asked Amanda if she could go and she made it happen. We left around 5:30am Tuesday morning. We ate breakfast in St George and were in Vegas around 9. We checked into our hotel (which had 2 pools and a lazy river-but we never used them...) and set out on our journey. Amanda was a fabulous navigator. We looked at a million plus apartments and drove around for six hours in very unfamiliar territory. It seemed like we drove around aimlessly at times, but we made it through. After a long time driving around the Vegas area, Amanda needed a little nap. After princess was beautified, we hit the strip. We ate at Hard Rock, threw down a few dollars, and did a little shopping. We stopped by a few bars for some good music, then went back for some sleep. Haha, except getting back wasn't that easy. Apparently we missed the shuttle. We decided to walk back to the end of the strip and get a taxi the rest of the way. Unfortunately it was super windy, luckily, Amanda only flashed everybody once. Way to go Amanda.
Wednesday we woke up...well, really late and hit the strip, again. We went and saw the human exhibit. It is amazing. If you are in Vegas and have a few spare hours, you HAVE to check out the human exhibit. You've got to do it!!!!
After In'n'Out burger, it was time to go home. It was a quick trip, but it was what the doctor ordered. I had a good buddy help me search for an apartment, I got to get away from work and Orem, and we just got to play. Everybody needs those things!! Thanks Amanda, and thanks babe for letting me just up and leave for a few days.

Needy

So the other day, Tivo was being very needy. I had been out of town for a few days (in Vegas again) and Chris had been working. I guess Tivo felt neglected because he would not leave us alone. Chris and I decided to take him to the park like any good parents would do.
We played fetch, ran with him, and he even had a few fellow canines join him for a short while. Chris and I were getting a bit bored, so naturally, we played our favorite game: see how far we can get Tivo up the playground equipment before he chickens out and jumps off. This time we added a little twist. Chris and I coaxed Tivo into going down the enclosed twisty slide. Hahaha....and by coaxed I mean forced (pushed, dragged, shoved).

These are the pics, obviously. By the time we got to the end of the slide, a terrible stench filled the slide. Chris and I were rolling with laughter. Tivo was so freaked out and we couldn't stop the laughter. Suddenly, I realized the stench was following me. No, not following me, ON me.

Hahaha...Chris and I had literally scared the piss out of Tivo (sorry 'bout the language mom) in the frenzy of it all. Chris and I were soaked in Tivo's nasty pee. We couldn't help but laugh even harder. It was time to go home. We stripped down, showered-yes, even Tivo, and went to bed.
Looks like Tivo got the last laugh!!

Have you?

Have you ever thrown up?
Have you ever thrown up on yourself?
Have you ever thrown up on yourself because you passed out?
Have you ever thrown up on yourself because you passed out, while at work?
Have you ever thrown up on yourself because you passed out, while at work cuz they wouldn't let you go home?

I HAVE. It's not fun. Don't try it!!

To Vegas

So, I upped and ran away to Vegas for a few days last week. I spent time with my mom and two of her friends. My mom LOVES the piano bar, so naturally we hung out there one night. The dueling pianists got my mom up on stage for her b-day. It was freaking awesome!!!

I spent my first night in Vegas at an old friend's house. We were really good friends throughout high school. I hadn't seen her since freshman year of college. I just called her up, she met us for dinner, and it was as if we always hang out together. You gotta love when you have awesome friends like that!!!

Anyway, the b-b-q was awesome last night. I got to see Crystal, finally. Amanda and her sister came. As did Alisa and her friend (some boy whos name started with a J). Katie, a friend from work, also showed up. Chris did a fabulous job cooking the steaks and humburgers.

Sun Soaked

After spending the day pulling weeds (seriously, it was like 5 hours), Chris and I decided to have ourselves a little bar-b-que. We cooked up some sirloin and a garden-burger, for me of course. Don't worry, I tried some of Chris's "first-time steak." It wasn't bad at all. He did a very good job considering this was his first time using one of those do-hickeys!! Tivo also got a whole steak to himself. What a spoiled little guy he is.
Oh, the picture above, you know, the one where I look like i'm 20 pounds heaver, it's cuz I was in the sun. The sun makes my face bloat. I HATE it. You would think that i'd remember not to take pictures after being in the sun all day, but alas, I don't. Now I have a trillion pictures that i'm sure you will be able to put in place of (the very distant) future pictures when I'm fat and bloated due to pregnancy. Nice...doesn't that sound scrumptious. Hahahaha.....
Tomorrow, after I work, we're gonna fire up the grill again. We invited a few people over who don't have moms around. We'll all enjoy mothers day, mother-less. We will drink sparkling cider in honor of the brave souls who birthed and raised us. Thanks mom!!

Watery Grave

Have you ever had a pet die? I have. Last week, my beloved first pet died. Her name was Evian. She was a beautiful beta fish. When she passed, I was beside myself. I had Chris take care of the "burial." As he was walking into the bathroom, I yelped!!

"What, did you want to bury her?"

"Ummmm....."

"Look, she's going in the toilet. After all, she needs a watery grave!"
And that was that...my fish is now among other dead and unwanted animals in the public sewer
